Ingredients:
2 pounds ground venison
1/2 pound bacon, freshly fried & chopped
1/2 cup of maple syrup
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 hamburger buns
Your favorite toppings (cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, etc.)
Instructions:
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
In a large bowl, combine the ground venison, bread crumbs, egg, bacon bits, maple syrup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
Brush the patties with melted butter.
Grill the patties for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired doneness.
Serve on hamburger buns with your favorite toppings. Personally we love adding freshly grilled or pan seared onions and nice melted smoked gouda or sharp Irish cheddar cheese.
Venison Cooking Tips:
If your venison is lean, you may want to add a 1/4 cup of bacon fat or ground beef to the mixture.
For extra flavor, you can marinate the patties in your favorite marinade for 30 minutes to overnight.
Don't overcook the burgers, or they will become dry.
Serve with your favorite toppings.
